As a very optimistic person, I plan on accomplishing many positive things in the coming year. I want to shine; but, if you know me, then you know that I always want to sparkle and shine. I want each of you to make 2017 the year you sparkle and shine with me!

“How do you sparkle?” you might ask. There are many different terms for the phrase "sparkle and shine." Some examples are “pay it forward,” “be kind to one another,” “do the right thing,” “do unto others,” “embrace life and people,” “involve yourself with the community,” etc. I am sure by now you are getting the jest of my statement & mission.

I want you to take some time out of your ever busy schedule and help others! It could be as simple as “paying it forward” in the Starbucks drive-thru; volunteering at a local food pantry, giving to the Association’s Annual Food Drive in July, or helping with Habitat for Humanity. Think of what makes you happy, what makes you sparkle, and spread the feeling!

An Austin man named Zach Horvath is on a mission to highlight inspiring stories. His mantra is "Live a Great Story." Ones that inspires, educates, and reminds people that there are great stories and things everywhere. To learn more about Mr. Horvath read some of the stories that show how your actions towards others has a ripple effect; read about his story in the Austin American Statesman. He is on a mission to make Austin 2017 shiny.

So, that is why I am on a mission to sparkle. We have great people, great communities, and cities with great stories. This year take the time to tell family and friends that you love them and that you are thankful for them; say thanks to workers, total strangers, and people on the street. Be kind to everyone you meet, you do not know what they are going through and that may just make their day. Have bigger hearts this year when asked to give of your time or money, pamper yourself so you are able to pamper others, it is always the little stuff that means a lot.

This year is a positive pathway to greatness. Sparkle my friends. Happy New Year!

Shortly after, Suzanne was asked to open up the Central Texas Market for the Greensheet paper. In her career, she has worked in many marketing positions in the home building industry, which led her down the path she has come to love. The housing industry was Suzanne’s direction to greatness. She worked my way up in several Fortune 500 Home Builders to the level of VP of Marketing. Those were great jobs and great days. When 9/11 happened, the nation panicked and many jobs were lost due to uncertainty in the market place, including hers. At that time she created her own ad agency - Creative Minds where her clients where the home builders who had let their marketing staff go. Suzanne got her real estate license and started selling and listing in 2003 and never looked back. She loves where she is and what she does. Suzanne serves as the 2017 President of the Williamson Count Association of REALTORS®.
