Update on Cedar Park Sign Ordinance

Last night the Association attended the City Council Meeting in Cedar Park to learn about their proposed sign ordinance. Darian Rausch, BOD Treasurer, Christy Gessler, WCREALTORS Past President, and Kent Prickett, WCREALTORS Governmental Affairs Director attended the event.

We listened to the city’s presentation on signs and the proposed sign ordinances across the entire city. Every city across the nation is reworking their ordinances based on the Supreme Court decision in 2015 on the Reed v. Town of Gilbert case. This case says that a municipality cannot enact an ordinance dictating the content on a sign; therefore, “open house sign” ordinances across the country are being rewritten as generic sign ordinances.

The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts has issued the following message:  We recently became aware of a scam involving an individual falsely claiming to represent the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, or in some cases the Texas Department of Transportation. The caller claims the taxpayer has a tax liability or other issue and requests credit card information.

Williamson County Housing Statistics - January 2017

Round Rock, Texas – 15 February 2017 – Home sales in Williamson County increased 0.4 % in January 2017. Additionally, home prices and inventory increased over 10% (when compared year over year), according to the January 2017 Williamson County housing market report released today by the Williamson County Association of REALTORS®.

According to the report, 544 homes were sold in Williamson County during January 2017, a 0.4% increase from the year prior. The median price for Williamson County homes increased 10.4% year-over-year to $265,000 during the same period.

“Inventory is starting to increase across Williamson County. This creates more competition between sellers, and gives buyers more choices,” said WCREALTORS President Suzanne Gantner. “While the inventory is increasing, Williamson County is still experiencing price increases as due to the extremely low inventory.” continued Gantner.

Round Rock, Texas – 15 January 2017 – Home sales in Williamson County increased 5.6 % in December 2016. Additionally, home prices increased (when compared year over year), according to the December 2016 Williamson County housing market report released today by the Williamson County Association of REALTORS®.

According to the report, 846 homes were sold in Williamson County during December 2016, a 5.6% increase from the year prior. The median price for Williamson County homes increased 4.6% year-over-year to $261,369 during the same period.

Williamson County home sales drop, but prices rise in October 2016

Round Rock, Texas – 11 November 2016 – Home sales in Williamson County decreased 11.5 % in October 2016; however, home prices increased (when compared year over year), according to the October 2016 Williamson County housing market report released today by the Williamson County Association of REALTORS®.

According to the report, 773 homes were sold in Williamson County during October 2016, an 11.5% decrease from the year prior. The median price for Williamson County homes increased seven percent year-over-year to $253,000 during the same period.

Round Rock, Texas – 12 October 2016 – Home sales in Williamson County increased 3.1% in September 2016 and home prices increased (when compared year over year), according to the September 2016 Williamson County housing market report released today by the Williamson County Association of REALTORS®.

According to the report, 958 homes were sold in Williamson County during September 2016, a 3.1% increase from the year prior. The median price for Williamson County homes increased four percent year-over-year to $247,400 during the same period.
