Last week the Williamson County Association of Realtors® hosted their East Side Bus Tour. WCREALTORS chartered two buses with over 80 Realtors and toured developments in Georgetown, Hutto, Round Rock and Taylor. Tour stops included: Greenlawn Village, Old Mill Crossing, Vizcaya, Camp Bow Wow, Siena, Carmel Creek and Pioneer Pointe.

Participating builders included: KB Home, Old Mill Crossing Townhomes, Taylor Morrison, William Lyon Homes, Brohn Homes and Village Builders.

In addition to touring model homes and developments, bus tour attendees also received an economic update from city officials in Round Rock, Hutto and Taylor. Here are just few highlights:

  • Round Rock will have a new library opening in 2022; the library will be 60,000 square feet and 3-4 stories high and a 39-room boutique hotel, The Ruby, is under construction and is expected to open in early 2019 in northern downtown Round Rock
  • The Kalahari Resort project is underway and is expected to be open by the end of 2020; the resort will have 975 hotel rooms, convention center, family entertainment center, indoor water park and several restaurants
  • Taylor continues to see growth and has a lot to offer to its residents; new restaurants, recreational activities such as a skatepark and splash pad, a thriving school district and so much more!
  • Hutto has several accolades under their belt including the Top Place in Texas to Raise a Family, #1 Austin Suburb for Young Couple and #7 in the 50 Safest Cities. As of May 2018, 29,000 people call Hutto “home.”

These types of events are just one way the Association offers its members opportunities to learn more about their community. Other events include lunch & learns with city officials, property tours and much more. Be sure to check the association’s website, www.wcrealtors.org, for the most up to date information on events, classes and other happenings!
