Deadline tomorrow

October 10 is the deadline to register to vote in this November’s election. Check your registration status on the Texas Secretary of State’s website.

There are seven constitutional amendments on the November ballot. Visit TexasRealtorsSupport.com to see a rundown of all seven and TAR’s positions on each.

What you should know about Prop 2

State of Texas Proposition 2  on the Nov. 7 ballot is a proposed amendment to the Texas Constitution that would make home equity loans and home equity lines of credit available to more Texas homeowners—all while maintaining the strict consumer protections that have served the state so well.

How you can help Harvey victims

The Texas REALTORS® Relief Fund has distributed more than $1 million worth of assistance to those affected by Hurricane Harvey—many of whom are REALTORS® themselves—thanks to combined support from NAR’s REALTORS® Relief Foundation, state and local associations, individual donations, and funds from the Texas Association of REALTORS®.

But the need is still great. The fund is no longer accepting new applications for assistance, but we’re still processing applications we’ve already received based on additional contributions.

If you’d like to help, visit texasrealestate.com/relief to donate now—100% of your contributions go to applicants.

The more donations we receive, the more funds we can disperse.

Check out the Sept./Oct. 2017 edition of Texas REALTOR® magazine to see how Texas REALTORS® from across the state are helping communities recover after Hurricane Harvey and find resources that you and your clients affected by this disaster can use.

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Jan Fite Miller, executive vice president of Century 21 Judge Fite Company, and DeLora Wilkinson, a Cypress broker, to the Texas Real Estate Commission for terms set to expire on January 31, 2023. Read more.
