WCREALTORS is happy to report that following a town hall style meeting with the City of Leander hosted by Stewart Title, an issue came up relating to open houses in Leander. At the town hall, there were announcements made about new Leander ordinances that would greatly impact all REALTORS® hosting open houses in the city limits.These regulations include sign placement, sign add-on's (such as balloons), registration requirements, permitting, sign location mapping and the fines associated with violations.

WCREALTORS set up a meeting with the City of Leander permitting and code enforcement department and had an outstanding meeting to open the dialogue on what is best of the City of Leander, the residents of Leander, and REALTORS® serving the Leander community. Following that meeting, a team of agents including Christy Gessler, Darian Rausch, and Ray Jeffas are working on a draft open house policy to be presented to the WCREALTORS Board of Directors for approval and the presented to the city for consideration.

The proposal will be presented following an upcoming meeting with the Home Builder's Association to fold the builder's directional and marketing signage into the proposal. We are looking forward to reaching a consensus on a program that works for everyone involved and ideally would be replicated in all communities in Williamson County for consistency.
